Wrong Way Around – Angel Island & Yerba Buena.

Departure:  Clipper
Arrival:  Clipper
Distance (nm):  20 nm
Engine Hours: 1 hour
Crew & Guests:  Julian, Colin, Marley
Weather:  Cold, Hot, Windy, Calm, the usual!

Log:

A low stress sail.  The tide was flooding, so the gate was out, and doing the usual counter-clockwise City -Yerba Buena – Angel Island route would have left us with a fruitless beat back through Raccoon Straights, so we went the other way.  Crazy!

A pretty uneventful  trip.  Perhaps noteworthy was that it was chilly enough to inspire Colin to a cup-a-soup instead of sandwich.  Actually, we did play around with getting the boat nicely balanced in the 25 knots back across the slot – 2 reefs and a bit of the headsail furled and the helm was light, boat (relatively) flat, and the speed 6 – 7 knots beating into it.  We were pleased with all that.
