Log:
After a work meeting in Palo Alto, went to the boat with my colleague from work, Milan, who has a fair bit of sailing experience, and headed out for a sail.
Over to the waterfront, around Alcatraz with a good ‘slot’ following wind, and around the top side of Angel Island for the first time on Pistachio. I expected the wind to die in the lee of the island, but it waited until Racoon Straights to turn quiet and fluky. Motoring a bit to get us out and back into the slot, we found a good reach over to the City again before deciding it was time to clock off work, and head for dinner.
Third sail in a week, and I’m a happy camper, and great to finally share some boat time with Milan after talking about it for many years.
And … still amazed how quick this boat is. Seems like it’s a constant 7+ knots without really trying.
