Back home to Clipper

Departure: Berkeley Marine Center, Berkeley
Arrival:  Clipper Yacht Harbor, Sausalito
Distance (nm): 11.4
Engine Hours: 1
Crew & Guests:  Julian, Colin
Weather: Sunny, Cool and pleasant steady 8-12 knots

Log:  After going back in the water and checking the three new through-hulls for leaks, we said our ‘see you later’s’ to the wonderful crew at Berkeley Marine Center, and headed out.  The hull all gleaming, but the deck and cabin top dusty and dirty from weeks in the yard.

A quick test of the electronics, and everything seems to be working fine, including the forward looking sonar, and the new depth/speed/temp, as well as the new autopilot remote control.  Boundless seemed definitely a bit more slippery with a fairer hull and new paint.

With some decent wind we had a good sail back, and realized the results of setting the autopilot to steer by the wind angle; a shift in wind and you’re heading straight for Alcatraz!

We are really pleased with the result of all the work of the past couple of months, and looking forward to some more projects, as well as getting back to sailing.
