Naming, Nav Station tidy, VHF, fender covers, and finishing the scupper through-hull (busy week!)

A couple of jobs completed this week:

Boat Name:  Installed the new boat name graphic:

 

VHF & Nav Station rework:  Tidied up the nav station, which required the purchase of a new B&G VHF Radio.  If we are being totally honest, the previous ICOM radio was fine.  It connected to the Vesper 8000 via NMEA 0813 to get GPS data, and it was DSC capable, had the horn/hailer and remote in the cockpit, etc.  Unfortunately … it was white … and simply would not do.  Welcome the new B&G VHF, and the new wireless cockpit handset:  here, a ‘before’ and ‘after’:

Fender Covers:  Sewed some fender covers to protect our lovely new paintwork (first project on the Sailrite sewing machine):

20180214_121205.jpgScupper through-hull:  Completed the installation of the starboard cockpit scupper through-hull and hose – We had left Berkeley without having this as the specific parts had evaded us.
